About Kylie Hutton-Herman

Kylie Elizabeth Hutton-Herman (b. 1992 Nassau, The Bahamas) is a contemporary painter known for her large, abstract expressionist paintings. Her practice is rooted in capturing ambient light and the organic movement of natural form on canvas. Her subject matter references familiar landscapes, flora and forestry moving in the realm of abstraction. Her style is process-driven and uses layered mark-making, loose brushstrokes and gestural colour to explore themes of nostalgia and memory.

Kylie holds a Bachelor of Visual Art from The University of Western Ontario and worked as a graphic designer prior to her painting practice. These experiences in design inform her sensitivity to space, shape and colour.

Her work is held in private collections internationally, including the Dawn Davies Collection, and has been placed in prominent commercial spaces including The Goldwynn. Her studio is based out of The Bahamas and Canada where she lives with her family.
